William Bays

BAYS, William “Bill” Roe, age 67, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on 4/29/2023 from natural causes. He was born on September 10, 1955 and grew up in Dayton, Kentucky. He was never married and had no children. He retired from Astro Met, Inc. after 30 years of dedication to the company. Bill had such a knack for numbers and mathematical problems that workers from the company still reached out to him for a helping hand on maintaining the proper calculations on the equipment. Bill was a self-proclaimed geek at heart. Some of his great loves included reading a good science fiction book; binge-watching Dr. Who; and going on an adventure with The Legend of Zelda. Bill loved to travel, especially to his favorite destination of Frankenmuth, Michigan. He dreamed of buying an RV and traveling the country during his retirement. Although Bill did not have children of his own, he stood in as a loving father-figure to his niece, Shelly Adams, and nephew, Ramsey Adams. He dedicated his life to providing love and support to his immediate family and friends. His generosity and kindness were unmatched. He will be forever loved and missed. He was preceded in death by his father, William Robert Bays, his mother, Claudia Francis (Godby) Bays, and his sister, Jennifer Bays. He is survived by his sisters Sheila (Mainous) Godman, Ada (Poole) Green, and Rita (Bays) Ekeroma; and his brothers Steve Mainous and Joel Bays. Bill will be cremated at Webster Funeral Home, 3080 Homeward Way, Fairfield, Ohio 45014.
