Viola Pater

Viola E. Pater age 94 of Fairfield passed away Thursday June 5, 2025. She was born July 4, 1930 in Hamilton, Ohio the daughter of the late Frank Fletcher and Elizabeth (Haas) Fletcher. She was married to Walter Broshear and Eugene Pater and both preceded her in death. Mrs. Pater owned and operated Dixie Dari Treat on Dixie Highway in Fairfield for many years also owned Coachlite Storage. She enjoyed spending the winter months at the Lazy Days community in North Fort Myers, Florida for over 40 years. She also enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and going to flea markets. She was the mother of Pam (John) Cappella, Peggy (Roy) Barker, Jill (Terry) Gilbert, the late Rick (Terrill) Broshear, and the late Bill Broshear; grandmother of Tara (Pat) McDonell, Tracy (Kevin) Henderson, Rick (Crystal) Broshear, Christy (Nick) Shafer, John (Elise) Cappella, Liz (Nick) Buchert, Shaun (Anne) Broshear, Jeremey (Sue) Broshear, Matt Broshear, Lindsey (Cody) Savanski, and Brad Gilbert; numerous great grandchildren, and the late Bill’s life partner Linda Bacher. Mrs. Pater was also preceded in death by her siblings Doris Webber, Betty Banker, and Eldon Fletcher, and her daughter-in-law Geri Broshear. Visitation at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at RT. 4, Fairfield on Monday June 9, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Mark Gregory of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, officiating.
