Vertain Comstock

Vertain Comstock age 88 of Hamilton passed away Friday August 21, 2026. She was born May 21, 1938 in McKee, Kentucky the daughter of the late Curt Lainhart and Dovie McQueen Lainhart. She was married to Gordon Lee Comstock and he preceded her in death in 1998 and then married Richard Gardner who preceded her in death in 2019. Mrs. Comstock deeply loved her children and family and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She enjoyed bowling and horseshoes and especially loved playing pitch, hosting pitch tournaments every month. She was a member of the VFW, the Moose Lodge, and the American Legion. She is the beloved mother of Rickey Lee (Pam) Comstock, Lisa (Tim) Whitaker, the late Gordon Comstock, Jr., Carol Sue Comstock, Tammy Hayes, Nicholas Comstock, and step- mother of Rick Gardner; grandmother of Crystal Reece, Jami (Jason) Berry, and Christopher Cash Comstock; great grandmother of Natalie Berry and Cole Berry; and sister of Doug (Connie) Lainhart and Gracie (Steve) Whitaker. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews. Mrs. Comstock was also preceded in death by ten siblings. Visitation at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield on Thursday August 27, 2026 from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM.
