Thomas E. Miller, 88, of Hamilton, Ohio passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

He was born on June 23, 1937, in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of the late Nathan and Maxine (nee Maddock) Miller.

Tom is survived by his three children, Tom (Robyn) Miller, Maureen (Mark) Miller, and Russ (Sandy) Miller; two stepdaughters, Cherie (Stan) Gentry and Anita Owens; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Mike) Marinich, Matthew (Amanda) Miller, Joshua Miller, Carrie (Bill) Murray, Christina Estep, Jennifer (Steve) Burns, Nicholas Miller, and Brooke (Tyler) Kirn; nine great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; two siblings, Jim (Sandy) Miller and Betty (the late Ed) Emenaker; and one sister in-law, Melanie Miller. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by two siblings, Carol Leslie and Stephen Miller.

Tom was a 1955 graduate of Reily High School, where he played both basketball and baseball. Following graduation, he worked as a driver for Omar Bakery, operated his own garage, and raced stock cars. He later worked for Fisher Body before beginning his career with the railroad as an operator. After retiring from the railroad, he moved to Brazil, Indiana, where he drove a school bus and operated his own handyman business until returning to Butler County in 2005.

Tom never met a stranger. Wherever he went, he could strike up a conversation - often sharing a story, telling a joke, or most likely both. He loved his family deeply and had a special fondness for his five cats. While his daughter Maureen provided devoted care for him in his later years, Tom continued to care for his beloved cats.

Tom also loved working with his hands and being outdoors. He could fix almost anything, especially if he had enough duct tape, and he enjoyed spending time on the tractor at the family farm. When he wasn’t working on a project, he enjoyed watching or attending sports of all sorts, especially as a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds and a diehard NASCAR enthusiast.

Tom was loved by everyone who knew him and he will be greatly missed.

The family would like to offer their sincerest thanks to the staff at Hospice of Hamilton, especially Tom's aide Becca, his nurses Heather and Pam and hospice volunteer visitor Rob Fix, for their compassionate care.
