Seldon Leroy Sams Jr., lovingly known as “JR,” passed away, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. JR was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline “Krissi” Dodson, and his sister, Katelynn Dodson. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Jenny & Aubrey (Tony) Bellard, who lovingly raised him and stood as guiding figures in his life; his father, Seldon Sams (Jen); his brother, Jayden Dodson; his cherished nephews, Zyair, Julian, and Avery; his beloved nieces, Aubrianna and Navy; his close uncle, Chris Sams; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly. JR had a heart for helping others and found joy in working with his hands. He loved working on cars, fishing, and tending to his “plants.” He especially treasured time spent with his nieces and nephews and being surrounded by family. To know JR was to love him. He was known for his wild and outrageous storytelling—stories that left you wondering, did that really happen? Truth or not, you never forgot a JR story. He was always able to bring laughter to any room. His smile—unique and unforgettable—had a way of lighting up everyone around him. JR worked at Hometown Appliances for the past several years, where he handled deliveries and assisted with appliance repairs. He took pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way. JR will be remembered for his big personality, kind heart, and the joy he brought to those who knew him. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave will last a lifetime. Our hearts are broken, but we are grateful for every moment we had with him. We’ll keep telling his stories—laughing, questioning if they were true, and loving every second of them—just like we always did. A Celebration of Life service for JR will be held at a future date.
