Ruth Elmyra (Rowe) Hodges was born on May 30, 1930 to G. Howard and Florence Rowe in Toronto, Ohio. She was the youngest of three children. Because her father was a Nazarene minister, she moved around with one of her favorite locations being Lake Placid where she had a chance to enjoy ice skating lessons. She attended Bethany Peniel College in Bethany, Oklahoma. She married her husband, Ralph Hodges, of 70 years on September 30, 1950. Along with her husband, they started the Fairfield Church of the Nazarene with only themselves and one other family. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing in the church choir. In addition to her activities at church, she held several bible studies in their home for neighbors and friends. She also participated in many work and witness trips around the world. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph Hodges, her brother, Chester Rowe, her sister, Doris Brodien, her daughter, Marcia Hodges, and son, Tim Hodges. Mrs. Hodges is survived by her daughter Sandra Richardson; six grandchildren Beth Richardson, Corinne Richardson, Auna Ehritz, Aven Hodges, Stephen Hodges, and Michael Hodges; and great granddaughter Rileigh Richardson. Please, no flowers. Donations should be made to the Fairfield Church of the Nazarene sign language classes held by Joetta Manson and any future sign language classes. Visitation will be at Webster Funeral Home, 3080 Homeward Way, Fairfield, Ohio from 10-11 on November 8 with the service immediately following with Pastor Larry Dinkins officiating.
