Romona (Barrett) Fisher, 94, passed away Monday August 31, 2026, at Berkeley Square. She was born to the late Tom and Martha (Pittman) Miller on December 20, 1931, in Barbourville, Kentucky. Romona was a homemaker and tended a home garden for many years. She especially enjoyed raising tomatoes, beans, and strawberries. Being an expert quilter and keeping a library of patterns, Romona made many applique and pieced quilts for family members. Her hand-quilting skill was exceptional. She also enjoyed crocheting ripple afghans and made many sets of house slippers while a resident in assisted living. Romona cherished receiving cards and photos from her many nieces and nephews and kept in touch with family and friends by frequent phone calls. Romona was a resident of Berkeley Square for ten years and received exceptional compassionate care from the Berkeley Square staff and Queen City Hospice. Romona is survived by her son and daughter in law Robert and Cheryl Barrett of Hamilton, Ohio; her sisters Lula Broughton of Washington, Michigan, Mary Hatfield of South Lyon, Michigan, and sister in law Marie Miller of Logansport, Indiana. Romona was also preceded in death by her husband Lowell Fisher in 1994 and her 10 other siblings. Private graveside services at Arlington Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Animal Friends Humane Society, 1820 Princeton Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45011, or charity of choice.
