Peggy J. Scovel Mccain

Peggy J. Scovel McCain age 80 of Hamilton, Ohio passed away Saturday June 24, 2023 in her home. She was born July 11, 1942 in Shelbyville, Indiana the daughter of the late Hank and Elsie DeWeese. Mrs. Scovel McCain was a member of Bridgewater Church and was a military wife of nine years. She had many interests. She was a puppeteer, loved painting on canvas, ceramics, and making porcelain dolls. She was known as quite a jokester and enjoyed playing the piano. She traveled to South Africa five times over the years. Mrs. Scovel McCain is survived by her husband James R. Scovel McCain, Sr.; four children Nora (Mark) Apple, Laura A. Miller, James (Naoma) McCain, Jr., and Scott MacKeane; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law Kay Scovel Milani, Sue Haines Scovel, and Cheryl Scovel; and many nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by her siblings Naomi Savage, Carol Auker, and Jerry Hartman. Visitation at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield on Saturday July 1, 2023 from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 AM, with Pastor Drew Wilkerson, officiating.
