Marcia Allyson Knight

Marcia Allyson Knight, age 71, of West Chester Township, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on August 21, 1950, to the late Arvora and Hazel (nee Allen) Knight. Marcia was a doting mother and grandmother. Marcia grew up in Lincoln Heights, Ohio, and graduated from Lincoln Heights High School in 1968. After high school, she attended Central State University, majoring in Business Administration. She worked as a retail professional most of her career with some stints in family-owned businesses. After working for several decades, Marcia moved to Woodbridge, Virginia, and lived there from 2004-2019, where her daughter became her caregiver. In July 2019, Marcia, her daughter, and her grandson moved back to the Cincinnati area. Marcia was a very social and compassionate person who touched many lives. There are many examples of her mentoring and assisting people throughout her life. She will be missed by those who knew her well. She loved cooking, baking, reading, watching TV, and playing games in her free time. She also enjoyed shopping and finding unique mementos. She is survived by her daughter Yasmin Schlegel, sister Yasmin Shelton and her grandson Connor Schlegel. She also leaves behind her nephews (Eddie A. Shelton, Eddie A. Shelton, Jr., Johan Shelton, Stephen Shelton, Stephen Shelton, Jr., Branden Shelton, Branden Shelton, Jr., Stephan McAdams, Malachi McAdams, Tylen Shelton, Logan Shelton, and Branden Shelton, Jr.) her nieces Trina Shelton, Kellie Shelton, Stephenie Shelton, Adriane H. Shelton, and Makyla McAdams), as well as her cousins Cheryl Clark, Michael Pearl, Marketta Neverson, and her close friends Patricia Whitehead and Jeanette Bryk. Marcia was preceded in death by her sister Denise Knight. Visitation will be held at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4 Fairfield, Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 11:00 AM until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Jeffrey Kitchen officiating.
