Loyd Gibson

Loyd Gibson, age 77 of Fairfield, Ohio, passed away Saturday April 25, 2026. He was born on June 7, 1948, in Leslie County, Kentucky, the son of the late Merida and Zilpha (Collins) Gibson. After a long career at P&G, he finished his working years as an award-winning senior loan officer in the mortgage business. Loyd’s most important role was sharing the Gospel of Jesus which he did everywhere he went for 58 years. He served in many different ministries within the church. Loyd was commissioned as an Honorable Kentucky Colonel. He was a regional cornhole champion, enjoyed playing cards at the senior center, loved fishing and really enjoyed his time spent with family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids. Loyd is survived by his daughter Angela (the late Don) Miracle; son Michael Gibson; 6 grandchildren Chuck (Melissa) Miracle, Samantha (Shane) Fields, Branden (Chelsey) Miracle, Alexis Miracle, Michael Gibson II, Brooklyn Gibson; 3 great grandchildren Liam, Lincoln, Evelyn; 3 brothers Therman Gibson, Willard Gibson, Everett Gibson; one sister Thelma Cornett; and former wife Linda (Eversole) Stacey. Loyd is also preceded in death by his wife Judy (Kersey); brothers Victor Gibson, Virgil Gibson, Tilford Gibson and Mortan Gibson. Visitation at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield Friday May 01, 2026 from 4:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 PM, with Pastor Rick Witt, officiating.
