With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kenneth David Chasteen (Kenny) 76, of Hamilton, Ohio, on December 28, 2025, surrounded by his family after a long and difficult illness. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and loyal friend to many. Kenny lived a life marked by courage, devotion, and unwavering faith. Born on April 2, 1949, in Indiana, Kenny was one of six children (four brothers, two sisters). After graduating high school, Kenny answered a calling greater than himself and joined the United States military. He served his country during the Vietnam War in a Special Forces Unit demonstrating the bravery and steadfastness that would define him throughout his life. After his military duty, he ultimately worked and retired from Armco Steel. On June 18, 1971, Kenny married the love of his life, Alta McKibben. Their marriage was a true romance—rooted in loyalty, laughter, and a deep, abiding love that carried them through every season. Alta has been his steadfast caregiver throughout his illness, her love and devotion to him was unwavering. Kenny loved working hard to have amazing family vacations on Florida and South Carolina beaches; he loved being near the ocean whenever he could. He loved church and was devoted to his faith. Kenny is survived by his wife, Alta, of 54 years; two daughters, Heather and Shelly; four grandchildren, Breanna, Chloe, Dawson, Kenneth; and five great-grandchildren, Bryson, Alta Leigh, Chris, Mauri, and Cardell; his two sisters, Beverly (Jeff) Johnson, Joy Gentry; sister-in-law, JoAnn Moore; and brother-in-law, Roger McKibben.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Christeen Chasteen; his three brothers, Ralph, Darrell and Bobby Chasteen; mother-in-law, Mary McKibben; brothers-in-law, Lyle Moore, Doug Gentry; sister-in-law, Carolyn Chasteen; and a very special niece, Dawn Hamblin. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield from 9:00AM until the time of the funeral at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park with full military honors.
