Kathleen “Kitty” Crase, 77, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Hamilton on April 18, 2024, surrounded by family and friends whom love her dearly. She was born on December 22, 1946, to the late Willie and Martha Back in Jeremiah, KY. She graduated from Letcher High School in 1964 and received a Bachelor of Teaching from Cumberland College in 1968.
She was happily married for 55 loving years to her high school sweetheart Arthur “Toby” Crase. Kathy is also survived by her three daughters Pamela (David) Turner, Teresa (Russ) Phares, and Sheila (Travis) Pierce, Nine grandchildren Candice (Sean) Peters, Matthew (Julianne) Turner, Kaitlyn (Allex) Gooch, Emily (Spencer) McKinney, Julianna Turner, Joshua Turner, Savana Phares, Tenley Pierce, and Emery Pierce, 7 great grandchildren Autum Roberts, Roman Roberts, King Roberts, Octavia Turner, Luke Peters, Ella Peters, and Elli Turner, and her only sister Barbara (the late Roy) Culp.
Kathy was an educator at heart. For 28 years she was an educator for the Hamilton City Schools District. She was kind and soft spoken, always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. She loved her students and took pride in making a difference. She loved Jesus, decorating birthday and wedding cakes, hosting large family gatherings, going on picnics, reading, and embroidering by hand.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished, and her memory will forever be carried in our hearts. Visitation will be on Tuesday April 23, 2024 at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield from 10:00AM until the time of the funeral at 11:00AM with Pastor Jim Horton and Pastor Boyd Carmack officiating.
