Kathleen Boenig, age 91, of Trenton passed away on Saturday May 24, 2025. She was born on January 2, 1934, during the “Great Depression” in a small two room cabin in the mountains of Stinking Creek, KY. The daughter of the late Bertha Mills and Matt Mills of Hamilton, Ohio. She was 11 years old when they moved to Hamilton, OH. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1952 and later retired from Beckett Paper. She loved life! She taught us to put God first, family second and there will be enough love for everyone. She grew up in and was saved and baptized at the East Hamilton Baptist Church where she served as the church secretary, treasurer, missions director, and mission leader for young girls. She always said that some of her happiest times and best friends were made in that church. She loved her family, missed her mom every day, would do anything to help anyone, anytime she was needed. She was strong, independent, stubborn, loving, funny, quick witted, caring and smart. She could do anything! She was our heartbeat. She was thankful for every moment God blessed her with and enjoyed her family. She spent her time reading, gardening, taking care of her lawn, sitting in the sun and home improvement projects. She always had a pet or pets to love and care for. She was best known as Kat, Mom, Big Grandma, Grams, Granny, Grammy, Aunt Kathy, Kathleen, Sis and friend. She would be any or all of those people to anyone who would allow or needed her to be. She lived her life as a devoted Christian trusting God to guide her along the way. Whenever I asked what advice, she had she always said to take care of one another, always be looking to help those who needed it. Her sister was legally blind and she said she wished she could share one of her eyes with her sister. She was so independent and stubborn. She was our foundation, the center of our world. If you said, I need you, no matter the task, if she could, she certainly answered the call. She lived a selfless life full of love for everyone, trusting in God’s plan. She will be missed more than words can describe. I know Jesus was waiting with open arms along with her mom and her sister. May she rest in peace she certainly earned it. She is survived by one daughter, Anita Colleen Collum, three granddaughters Michelle Dingledine, Sarah (Lesean) Majeed, and Rebecca (Bobby) Overton; seven grandchildren Hadlea Dingledine, Cohen Dingledine, Brayden McKinney, Peyton McKinney, Kingston Majeed, Makayla Riley, Jordan Overton, Kallie Overton, and Jozie Overton; one great great granddaughter Aleah Barrett; one brother Glenn (Joann) Mills. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other family, and close friends. Kathleen was also preceded in death by her sister Emma Boyd. Visitation will be on Saturday May 31, 2025 at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield from 09:30 AM until the time of the funeral at 10:30 AM with Pastor Barry Wilson officiating.
