A life well lived and a legacy well loved, James Blaine “Jim” Money, 77, of Fairfield, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on September 14, 2025. Born in Pineville, Kentucky, on October 22, 1947, Jim was a man defined by his unwavering love for Jesus and his cherished family. He embodied integrity, selflessness, and a quiet strength that made a profound impact on all who knew him.
Jim was a devoted member of First Church of God (now Bridgewater Church) in Hamilton, Ohio, where he served faithfully for many years. He also proudly served in the Army National Guard. Jim earned his Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1970 and his Master of Education from Xavier University in 1976. He began his career teaching history at Ross High School before transitioning to a career in human resources with Fisher Body and Delphi (General Motors) in Fairfield and Dayton, Ohio, where he faithfully worked for nearly 30 years until his retirement.
More than his accomplishments, Jim's greatest joy was his family. He was the beloved husband of Carla Ann Money for 53 years—his high school sweetheart, best friend and partner in life. They could often be seen holding hands, a quiet testament to their deep love and dedication. Jim was a loving father to his three sons: Jason Money (Amy) of Charlotte, NC; Justin Money (Chelsea) of Fairfield, OH; and Steven Money (Kristen) of Fairfield, OH. He was a proud and adored grandfather to Jacob, Adelynne, Lauren, Reagan, Gavin, AJ, Aubrie, and Asher, finding immense joy in each of their lives.
He is also survived by his three siblings Sandy Shircliff, Jean LaFata (Chuck), and Vickie Parker (Dave) along with a large and loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Luther Blaine Money and Cotha Lee Money, and sisters Shirley Allen (Ray) and Betty Caudill (Ron).
Though a gentle and quiet soul, Jim often surprised his family with moments of unexpected humor or adventurous spirit—whether jumping off a waterfall or showcasing his waterskiing skills. He loved taking his family out on the boat, patiently teaching countless friends and family members to ski—and then turning up the speed to try to knock his boys off the tube. He had a lifelong love of Corvettes, owning many over the years. He also enjoyed woodworking with his beloved wife, especially crafting their well-known log reindeers, many of which still find their place in holiday displays to this day.
Throughout his life, Jim was the spiritual anchor of his family and faithfully said the blessing at every family gathering. Even as memory loss took hold in recent years, his faith endured. This past Christmas, in a moment none of us will forget, he quietly asked to say the blessing—and spoke a beautiful, Spirit-filled prayer that touched every heart.
His life was a testament to his faith, his marriage, and his role as a father and grandfather. If Jim were writing his own eulogy, it would not be about himself, but all about Jesus Christ and his family. His legacy of faith, devoted marriage, and profound love for his family will extend far beyond his years, serving as an enduring example for us all. Thanks for leading our families in prayers all these years. Redemption wins!
