James Winston Henry Sr. age 86 of Woodlawn passed away on Wednesday May 21, 2025. He was born on June 16, 1938 in Tallassee, AL the son of the late Tommy Lee and Celestine (Brooks) Henry. James moved to Cincinnati at the age of 14 in 1952. He met Christine Allen in 1957 and they married August 17, 1960. They moved to Chester Rd in 1963. He began driving 18 wheelers for Jergens and concrete company and earned him the nickname “Allstate”. He went on to own his own 18-wheeler and opened a neighborhood family store. He was a big Reds and Bengals fan. James also really enjoyed playing softball on the Lincoln Heights Old Timers League. He and his wife loved going to the casinos. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who cooked for his family every day. He is survived by his loving wife Christine Henry of over sixty-four years; James is survived by seven children Barry Gauntt, Larry Jackson, Demetrious (Michelle) Henry, Dawanda Henry, James W. Henry Jr, Jerod Henry, and Kelvin Henry; thirty-four grandchildren; many many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one sister Charity (the late Tommie) O’Neil. Mr. Henry also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other family and close friends. He was also preceded in death by fifteen siblings; one granddaughter Amber Robinson; two great grandsons Ontario Young and Landon Allen. Visitation will be on Thursday June 5, 2025 at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield from 10:00AM until the time of the funeral at 12:00PM.
