Helen Mae Hardewig, she was a beloved and devoted mother to four children Gary (Kim) Osborne of London, KY, Diana (Ricky) Marlow, Donald (Natasha) Atwood, and Tammy Atwood Johnson all of Hamilton, OH. She passed away peacefully at home on a beautiful sunny day on June 1, 2025 at 9:15AM, leaving a void her family cannot fill. She was born in New Miami on “Happy Top” on July 9, 1941 to the late Ernest Elliott and Hazel Mae (nee Cornett) Hickman. Helen enjoyed dancing and won trophies for her “jitterbugging”. She had fond memories of her cousin and best friend Margie “Dodgie” Barger-Trauthwein. She attended New Miami Schools. She was a devoted mother to Gary, Diana, Donald, and Tammy; grandmother of fifteen grandchildren; great grandmother to thirty-six great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. They were her pride and joy, whom she loved very much. She always said their birth changed her life forever and for the better. Mom always said there was no greater joy than being a mom. Helen was preceded in death by her husband William Hardewig; her parents; brothers William Milburn “Peach” Hickman, Ernie Jr; two grandchildren Jacob and Miracle; two great grandsons Zain and Shane. The family would like to thank the following people for helping take care of our mother during her final days. We are eternally grateful for all of you. Ronnie Blaylock, Hailey Atwood, Jessica Love, Missy Tait Brown, Missi Hensly, Crystal McKnight, and Hospice of Cincinnati, you all are wonderful. Thank you from the bottom of our heart. Visitation will be on Saturday June 7, 2025 at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield from 1:00PM until the time of the funeral at 2:00PM with Pastor Shawn Grubb officiating. “Mom because of you we have the heart of a lion and love of our family. You will be missed terribly. You fought a hard battle but your poor little body couldn’t hold on. We find comfort in knowing that your legacy will live on in your children and grandchildren. The lessons you taught us and the love you gave us. The memories we will cherish forever.”
