Gorman Bruce

Gorman Bruce, age 97, of Fairfield passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. He was born on June 12, 1925 in Gatliff, KY, the son of the late Elbert and Sally Ann (nee Mahan) Bruce. Gorman was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a schoolteacher for Fairfield City Schools for many years. He was married to Ella Bruce, and she passed in 2015 after 68 years of marriage. Gorman is survived by two children Donald (Margery) Bruce and Cathy Lynn (the late David) Gentry; four grandchildren, Tami (David) Barkman, Travis (Andrea) Bruce, Rebekah Gentry, and Jonathan (Tara) Gentry; six great grandchildren; and one brother Edward Bruce. He also leaves behind a cousin, Vester Mahan; many nieces and nephews; other family; and close friends. Gorman was also preceded in death by four siblings Noble Bruce, China Taylor, Shirrell Paul, and Denver Paul. Visitation and fellowship will be on Saturday February 11, 2023 at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield from 2:00PM-4:00PM. Private entombment will be on Tuesday February 14, 2023 at 11:00AM in Crown Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
