Gary W. DeHart age 68 of Grand Blanc, Michigan passed away Friday January 19, 2018. He was born January 16, 1950 in Austin, Indiana the son of the late Abe and Mae (nee Combs) DeHart. Mr. DeHart was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Miami University in 1977 and worked as a superintendent at General Motors. Gary enjoyed training and walking in the CRIM Festival of Races in Flint, Michigan, tending to his Japanese garden, playing his guitar, and entertaining his grandchildren. In the last few years he and his wife checked off many places and things on their bucket list as they traveled and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was well loved and respected by those who had the pleasure of working with him and being his friend. He is survived by his wife Brenda Rowland DeHart; two daughters Kimberly DeHart Walsh (Dave) and Amanda DeHart Weatherford (Stephen); grandchildren Claira, Charles, and Evelyn Weatherford, and Adele and Colin Walsh; brothers Charles (Patricia) DeHart, James DeHart, Randall DeHart and John Edward DeHart, and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Lonnie DeHart, Tony DeHart, and Dill DeHart. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many from his time living in Ohio, New Jersey, Kansas, and Michigan. Visitation 3-5 PM Sunday January 21, 2018 at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield, Ohio. The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Monday January 22, 2018 at the funeral home with Stephen Weatherford, officiating. Burial to follow with full military honors in Rose Hill Burial Park.
