In Loving Memory of Frederic Mathew Steele

Frederic Mathew Steele, age 76, of Fairfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on October 11, 2026,surrounded by his family.

Born on December 7, 1949, in Hamilton, Ohio, Fred was the beloved son of the late Clarence Steele and Mary Palmatier and Gary Palmatier.

He will be remembered for his love of classic cars, the friendships he treasured, and the time he enjoyed spending with friends at The Eagles of Fairfield. Fred found joy in life’s simple pleasures and in the company of those who meant the most to him.

Fred was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose family was an important part of his life. He is survived by his loving son, Todd Mathew Steele (Nikki); his beloved granddaughters, Alana Steele (Jamie) and Samantha Goodpaster (Guy); and one bonus granddaughter Alexis Norman and his cherished great-grandchildren, Stetson and Gus and one bonus great grandchild Violet.

He is also survived by his former wife, Faye Stover; his sisters, Nancy Baker and Cindy Lunsford (Tim); and his nieces and nephews, Quiller Baker II (Monica), Crystal (Derek), Lauren (Justin), and Leslie.

Fred leaves behind many dear friends and extended family members who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him and hold him close in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Steele and Mary Palmatier; his stepfather, Gary Palmatier; his brother, William Steele; and his brother-in-law, Quiller Baker.

Fred’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. However, the memories he created, the friendships he built, and the love he shared will live on. Though he will be deeply missed, he will never be forgotten. Forever in our hearts.

Visitation at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 3080 Homeward Way at Route 4 in Fairfield on Friday October 16, 2026 starting at 11:00AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00PM. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
