Floyd Raymond Smith, age 83, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away on July 11, 2026.

Born on April 17, 1943, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Floyd Keeling Smith and Juanita Smith, Floyd spent his life in the community he proudly called home. He worked for many years as a skilled Tool and Die Maker at Fisher Body in Hamilton, where he was respected for his craftsmanship, precision, and strong work ethic.

Outside of work, Floyd’s greatest passion was classic automobiles, especially Chevrolet muscle cars. Over the course of his lifetime, he assembled an impressive collection of 35 classic Chevrolets, including 10 legendary Z28 Camaros. His beloved, all-original 1957 Chevrolet Corvette, which he proudly owned and preserved since 1971, remained his prized possession. Floyd dedicated countless hours to restoring and preserving rare Chevrolets and original parts, earning the respect of fellow enthusiasts throughout the classic car community. His lifelong passion was recognized in Chevy Rumble magazine, where his remarkable collection and dedication to preserving Chevrolet history were featured.

While Floyd will be remembered for his passion for classic Chevrolets, those closest to him also knew his quiet devotion to family. He faithfully cared for his brother and sister for many years, demonstrating a quiet sense of responsibility that reflected his commitment to those he loved.

In his final moments, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife, Lana, Floyd prayed and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. His profession of faith brought great comfort to his family, who rejoice in the hope that he is now home with the Lord.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Keeling Smith and Juanita Smith; his son, Ronnie Smith; his brothers, Bobby Smith and Andy Smith; and his sister, Rosemary Smith.

He is survived by his devoted wife and companion of 32 years, Lana Renee (McIntosh) Smith; his stepsons, Josh Vaughn and Clint (Holly) Vaughn; his cherished granddaughters, Raelyn Elizabeth Vaughn and Brooklyn Olivia Vaughn; his brother, Rick (Kathy) Smith; his nephew Jeffrey Smith; his niece Sara Baker; his grandnephew Noah Fields, Jackson Fields, Adam Fields; devoted dog, Ruby Gayle; and his favorite in-laws, Dave and Joyce McIntosh, as he affectionately called them.

Those who knew Floyd knew he always had a quick joke ready. When a waiter asked what he wanted, he would smile and reply, “A million bucks.” And when talking about money, he’d often say, “If I had your money, I’d burn mine.”

Visitation at the Webster Funeral Home, 3080 Homeward Way, Fairfield Thursday July 16, 2026, from 4PM until the time of the funeral service at 6PM. Burial will take place the following day on Friday July 17, 2026, at Rose Hill Burial Park, Hamilton starting at 2PM. Special Acknowledgments

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Holly Vaughn, PA-C, for her unwavering love, compassion, and medical guidance throughout Floyd’s later years. Her support and care brought comfort not only to Floyd, but to the entire family during some of life’s most difficult moments.

The family also wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Shwetal Desai for his exceptional care, kindness, and dedication over many years. His compassion, guidance, and support meant more than words can express and will always be remembered with sincere gratitude.

Though Floyd has gone home to be with the Lord, the cars he restored, the craftsmanship he poured into them, and the memories he created will continue to be appreciated by those who share his passion for classic Chevrolets.
