Dorothy "Dottie" Ellen Sweeney Profile Photo

Dorothy (Dottie) Ellen Sweeney was born on July 27, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Arnold and Dorothy Emmerich. She passed away peacefully in her home on March 8, 2025. Dottie married Richard A. Sweeney on March 28, 1952. Together, they enjoyed 60 wonderful years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 26, 2012. Dottie is survived by her brother, Barry (Debbie) Emmerich and her children: Barb (Geoff) Blankenship, Rick (Vanessa) Sweeney, Debi (Bob) Sellers, Laura (JD) Masters, Rob (Jen) Sweeney, and Randy (KLynn) Sweeney. Dottie’s legacy includes 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.  Dottie was an avid reader and delighted in sewing and quilting. She was known for her smile and gift of gab, as she never met a stranger. Anyone lucky enough to be around Dottie for very long, often referred to her as feisty, as she was always on the go and had a great zeal for life. She found great pleasure working in her flower gardens and remembered fondly her days working at P&G. Dottie was a devoted Christian and a member of Bright Christian Church. She will be missed by many!
