Don Hodges

Don Hodges age 75 of Fairfield went to be with the Lord on Saturday July 12, 2025. He was born on November 6, 1949 in Waukegan, IL the son of Ruby (nee Fletcher) and the late Homer Hodges. Don was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and man of faith. On August 10, 1968 Don married the love of his life Deloris (nee Smith) Hodges and the two were about to celebrate their 57th anniversary. He lived a life marked by integrity, compassion, and Joy. He proudly served in the United States Army and later worked as an Aircraft Engineer for General Electric on Military Aircraft Division for 27 years. Don is survived by his loving wife Deloris Hodges; three children Jared (April Nailer) Hodges, Donielle (Greg) Frimming, and Brandon (Emily) Hodges. He was a proud grandfather and great grandfather. He is also survived by his mother Ruby Hodges, one sister Vickie Labenz. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other family, and close friends. His memory will live on through the lives he touched so deeply. Don was deeply committed to his faith and active in his church, Zion United Baptist. He served faithfully as a deacon, trustee and Sunday School Teacher for multiple age groups over the years. His love for the Lord was evident in all he did. Don cherished time with his family and never missed a chance to show his love, encouragement, and tell them how proud he was of them. He found joy in many things like collecting coins, playing board games, cards, video games, and traveling to new places. Don will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
