Curtis S. Martin

After fighting a long battle with cancer, Curtis (Curt) Scott Martin, 69, passed to his heavenly home on May 17, 2023. He was a faithful member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Fairfield, Ohio. Curtis was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and grew up in Mason, Ohio. He worked several jobs during his career, the most prominent being in grounds maintenance at GE in Evendale, Ohio for 14-1/2 years. In 1978, he met and married the love of his life, Cheryl Whitmer. Curt loved playing his guitar and writing songs. He loved comic books, especially Batman and Superman. He also enjoyed old movies, spending time with his family, playing trivia and working in his yard. Although they were not blessed with children of their own, they were privileged to be included in their nieces’ and nephews’ lives, and subsequently their families’ lives. These included 3 nieces – Pamela (Brad) Cox, Melissa (Scott) Martin Stewart, and Stephanie (John) Wallace; 3 nephews – Stephen (Jill) Creech, Jeffrey Martin, Jr. and Jonah Martin; 6 great nieces – Brittany (Shane) Brown, Ashley (Derrick) Holt, Sandra (Shannon) Cox, Erica (Travis) Holt, Rachael Wallace and Amber Wallace; 1 great nephew – Jacob Stewart; 2 great, great nieces – Bailey Rose Holt and Charlotte Mae Holt and 5 great, great nephews – Aiden Brown, Bradyn Cox, Carson Stewart, Storm Smalley and Slade Smalley. Curtis is survived by his wife, Cheryl and his faithful dog, Lucky; brothers Lawrence (Wanda) Martin, Jr, Steven (Vicky) Martin and Jeffrey Martin, Sr. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his mother, Thelma Rose Martin and his father, Lawrence Alford Martin, Sr. Graveside service will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 10209 Plainfield Road, Blue Ash Ohio on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 12noon, with Rev. Manuel Guzman officiating. Funeral arrangements provided by THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way, Fairfield, Ohio.
