Carlotta "Carla" A. Money

In Loving Memory of Carlotta Ann Money:

To know Carla was to experience grace, kindness, patience, and genuine love. Carla Ann Money, 76, of Fairfield, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on September 24, 2026.

Born in Portsmouth, Virginia on April 12, 1950, Carla’s life was defined by her selfless devotion to others, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness for those that knew her.

She was the beloved wife of James Blaine Money for 53 years—her high school sweetheart, best friend and partner in life. Their marriage was a reflection of their shared love for the Lord Jesus Christ and provided the foundation upon which they built their family. Together, they raised three sons in a home filled with love, faith, laughter, and adventure.

Carla was the perfect mother to raise three energetic boys. She stayed home with them until they started school, then spent the next 23 years working for Sibcy Cline Realtors in Fairfield, Ohio. She embraced every part of motherhood—from board games and sports to handmade Halloween costumes, epic birthday parties, making cookies and Chinese for Christmas dinner (a beloved Money family tradition). Whether sledding at Harbin Park or spending weekends on the lake, Carla was always ready for the next adventure with her boys.

Carla’s heart for service was deeply rooted in her faith. For more than 40 years, she taught the two- and three-year-old Sunday school class at First Church of God, now Bridgewater Church, in Hamilton, Ohio. While others might have found the energy of toddlers daunting, Carla thrived in it. She had a natural gift for connecting with little ones and she loved sharing her faith and love of Jesus with each child.

Her spirit of service extended beyond the church. Carla was always ready to volunteer, whether chaperoning a school dance or field trip (to her teenage boys’ dismay), helping a neighbor in need, or preparing a home-cooked meal. But her greatest joy was found in the time spent with her family and her grandkids. Carla spent countless weekends on the water, boating and enjoying close friends and family. Adventurous by nature, she never wanted anyone to sit on the sidelines. Whether she was teaching someone to waterski or encouraging everyone to join in the fun, Carla had a way of turning ordinary moments into memories filled with laughter, love, and adventure.

And then there was Carla’s sense of humor. She was a practical joker who loved a good laugh and had a mischievous sense of humor. She was never too proper to find humor in certain subjects that could send her into fits of uncontrollable laughter, often making everyone around her laugh simply because she found it so funny. That combination of a tender heart, deep faith, and playful spirit was uniquely Carla—and those who knew her best will remember that laughter as one of the things that made her so special.

Carla leaves behind her three sons: Jason Money (Amy) of Charlotte, NC; Justin Money (Chelsea) of Fairfield, OH; and Steven Money (Kristen) of Fairfield, OH. She was a proud and adored grandmother (Nana) to Jacob, Adelynne, Lauren, Reagan, Gavin, AJ, Aubrie, and Asher, finding immense joy in each of their lives. She is also survived by her three siblings Donna Hendricks, Betty Abbott (George), and Alice Roth (Harry) along with a large and loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl Dudley Moore and Jean Moore, as well as her husband James Blaine Money, with whom she will spend eternity in Heaven with.

For all the ski lessons, Christmas reindeer, Bible stories, and lion hunts, we will always be grateful. Your selflessness was a gift to all who knew you. And just as you always told us, Mom, Nana, “We love you to the moon and back!”

THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME is serving the family. Visitation will be held on Thursday October 8, 2026 starting at 1:00PM at The Bridgewater Church 3100 Princeton Rd. Hamilton, Ohio 45011.
