Byron Dale Hawkins, age 70, lovingly known as Dale, passed away on March 9, 2026 at his
home in Fairfield, Ohio. He is now home and healed with his Heavenly Father and is no longer
bound to his health and physical struggles. Born on April 14, 1955, Dale lived a life defined by
kindness, friendship, deep devotion to family and the love of his Lord and savior.

Dale was a man who truly never met a stranger. His warm personality, infectious laughter, and
genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a loyal friend to
many and cherished the relationships he built throughout his life. To those closest to him, Dale
was more than a friend—he was family.

He loved the simple joys of life: spending time with his family of birth and those he chose as
family, boating, loved the beach, listening to classic rock tunes, playing his guitar and riding his
motorcycle. Whether through a conversation, sharing stories, a laugh, or a song, Dale had a
special way of bringing people together and making every moment feel meaningful. Ever the
prankster, he engaged with his band of brothers to outdo one another. Those memories will live
on forever!

Professionally, Dale spent many years working in the manufacturing industry, where he built a
long and respected career. He also enjoyed working alongside realtors and remodeling partners
to restore homes for resale, a job that allowed him to put his hands-on skills and work ethic to
good use.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, William Byron “Dub” Hawkins and Faye Daniel
Hawkins; his brother, Keith Daniel Hawkins; and his niece, Mariel Christina Story.

He is survived by his loving sisters, Alesa Story (Martin) and Denise Picus (Art); his nephew,
Keith Story; his nieces, Taylor (Hunter) Hogan and Lauren Picus; and his nephew, Matt Picus.
Dale also leaves behind many beloved friends whom he considered his own brothers and sisters.
Dale’s life was a testament to friendship, kindness, and the importance of family. His smile,
laughter, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Though he
may be gone from our lives, Dale’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege
of knowing him.
