Bruce "Skeeter" Van Zandt

Bruce “Skeeter” C. Van Zandt Sr., age 71, of Lockland, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025. He was born on June 22, 1954, in Cincinnati, the son of the late Bruce J. and Alma (nee Wood) Van Zandt. Skeeter proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and was the longtime owner of Bruce’s Tavern in Lockland. He is survived by his son, Bruce C. Van Zandt Jr.; three grandchildren, Matthew, Madeline, Cassidy; his sister, Patty Van Zandt; and his beloved dogs, Chester, Bill, and Harley. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gail Thomas and Wanda Van Zandt, as well as five dogs, Salty, Pepper, Kacey, Solomon, and Smokey. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4 in Fairfield, from 10:30AM to 11:30AM. A procession will follow to Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third St., Dayton, OH 45417, for a 1:00 PM committal service with full military honors.
