Bernice Peters

Bernice Peters age 81 of Hamilton passed away Friday May 31, 2024 in her home. She was born July 26, 1942 in Oneida, Tennessee the daughter of the late George Smith and Cora Hamblin Smith. On July 26, 1965 she married Demcie Peters. Mrs. Peters was a member of the Darrtown Baptist Church for many years. She retired from West Side Dry Cleaners. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Her door was always open to family and she loved company. She also loved spending every moment with her beloved husband of 59 years, Demcie. In addition to her husband Mrs. Peters is survived by three children Andrea (David) Jorgensen, Jeannie (Scott) Lawrence, and Debbie Gutierrez; several grandchildren; great granddaughter Addi; her brother Jesse (the late Clarice) Baker; step children Vicki Fritz and Greg (Debbie) Peters; and her special cousin Louise Jones and her son John. She was also preceded in death by her step daughter Pamela Lamp and her brother Orville Adams. Mrs. Peters loved all of the Queen City Hospice staff who were her compassionate care givers.
